The Forbidden City
Collections
Besides the Great Wall, the
Forbidden City is among the
greatest significance in Chinese
architecture and culture. Its art
collections are unprecedented in
the history of China. The Forbid-
den City was built around 1407
where 14 emperors of the Ming
Dynasty and 10 emperors of the
Qin Dynasty had lived and
reigned. The City sits in the
heart of Beijing, on approxi-
mately 178 acres of land. It has
been converted to Gugong
Museum (Museum of the Past
Palace) for the last 8 decades.
Among the Palace's collections,
Emperor Qian Long's collections
stood out as the largest and the
best Chinese art of all times.
Loiminchay's Forbidden City
Collections capture different
parts of the Palace's treasures
to share with collectors and
alike.
